Professor Sankar Sivarajah joined the School of Management at University of Bradford in December 2017 as a Reader in Technology Management and Circular Economy. He is also the current Head of Logistics, Supply Chain and Technology Research Centre and the Interim Head of the School of Management.  In January 2020 he was succesful in receiving the position of Chair in Technology Management and Circular Economy.

Prior to this role, he was a Lecturer in Operations and Information Systems Management and a Senior Research Fellow at the Business School in Brunel University London. His current research interests include exploring the emergent role of digital technologies in the circular economy, information systems evaluation, social innovation and e-Government.

He is an investigator of several multi-million-pound R&D projects funded by the European Commission (FP7, H2020, Marie Curie) addressing societal challenges surrounding themes such as Energy Efficient Smart Cities, Green Data Centres, Social Innovation and Participatory Budgeting. He actively publishes in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Research, Information Systems Frontiers, Computers in Human Behaviour and Government Information Quarterly and is also invited member of editorial advisory board of journals.

His research has been featured in leading media/trade publications such as Computer Weekly, PublicFinance, UKauthority etc. He has a PhD in the area of technology evaluation from Brunel University London. Prior to his PhD, he was awarded a MSc in Management with distinction from Cass Business School (CASS), City University of London and a first-class honours BSc degree in Business and Management (Computing) from Brunel University. I am Professor of Human Resource Management and Director of the People, Organizations and Entrepreneurship Research Centre at the Bradford School of Management from September this year. I obtained my PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Aston University in 1989, and have previously held chairs at the University of London (Goldsmiths College) and the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Having published in several areas spanning HRM and Organizational Psychology over a number of years. I am Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and Division 14 of the APA (the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology), Fellow of the IAAP, and an Academic Fellow of the CIPD.

Having published over 100 refereed papers, 20 books, and over 60 book chapters, my scholarly work has appeared in a number of the top-tier journals in the field including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Personnel Psychology, Human Relations, Human Performance, and the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology. In addition, I have also co-edited a number of major handbooks including the Blackwell Handbook of Selection (2005) and the Handbook of Industrial, Work, and Organizational Psychology published by Sage (2001/2017). I have built up wide experience of departmental and university management roles, and over the years I have won funding from research councils and third-wave foundations in three countries, including a Leverhulme Trust funded centre into innovation research in the workplace, and, most recently, NASA (the MARS mission project). Professor Saeed Akbar is a Professor in Accounting and Finance, and Head of Accounting, Finance and Economics at the University of Bradford School of Management.  He has published his research in leading national and international journals and has taught core courses in Accounting and Finance at the University of Liverpool, University of Hull, University of Bradford and other prestigious institutions. Prior to joining the BBC, Jabbar was Director of HR & OD at Cafcass between 2006 to 2015.  Before Cafcass, Jabbar was a senior HR professional within a number of large public sector organisations.

Stephen A Greyser is Richard P Chapman Professor (Marketing/Communications) Emeritus, of the Harvard Business School, where he specialises in brand marketing, advertising, corporate communications, the business of sports, and nonprofit management.

A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School, he has been active in research and teaching at HBS since 1958. He was also an editor at the Harvard Business Review and later its Editorial Board Secretary and Board Chairman. He is responsible for 16 books, numerous journal articles, several special editions of journals, and over 300 published HBS case studies. 

At HBS, he developed the Corporate Communications elective, creating over 40 cases and articles on issues management, corporate sponsorship, relations among business-media-publics, etc. His current research (co-authored) and most recent published articles are on the branding and identity of the Nobel Prize, including “The Identity of a Heritage Brand” (2015) and integrating the Nobel Prize’s identity and reputation (2016).

He created and teaches Harvard’s Business of Sports course, is a member of the University’s Faculty Standing Committee on Athletics, has served on the Selection Committee for the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame, is on the board of The Sports Museum, and has authored numerous Business of Sports cases and articles.

Majed is Senior International Director for Western Europe, Middle East & Africa at The Coca-Cola Company where he helps global customers grow their presence and business around the world. 

Majed joined Coca-Cola in 1998 and brings a wealth of strategic sales and marketing experience with Fortune 100 companies. Having started his career with Warner Lambert as a Sales Supervisor, Majed advanced his international career through international consumer icons such as Gillette and Kimberly-Clark, all the while establishing a personal brand that stands for passion, collaboration, excellence and leadership. He describes himself as “the absolute best at what I do and my track record speaks for itself. Challenge me and I'll prove you wrong.” 

Majed worked across three continents in a broad range of corporate disciplines, including sales, business development, marketing, and channel strategy. At Coca-Cola, he led convenience retail channel strategy for North America and collaborated with the US National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) to build and launch NACS CAFÉ (NACS Center For Advancing Foodservice Excellence); an educational platform to develop the foodservice skills of member retailers. Additionally, he collaborated with EMORY University’s prestigious Goizueta Business School to coach two student teams on the 2006/07 GMSC competition. 

On a personal level, Majed is an avid cultural enthusiast with a deep passion for world travel (current count- 63 countries) where his understanding of the world is constantly being shaped by his travel. He’s an active community member and served on multiple non-profit organizations. He is past Vice Chair- International Board of Art Reach Foundation, an Atlanta-based non-profit that leverages the arts to rehabilitate conflict-stricken children, Chaired the local school council of Alpharetta High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and Board Member of Alif Institute, a cultural center that promotes Arab American socialism. A self-proclaimed “sports junky” he is also a certified USA Soccer youth coach. 

Majed is passionate about leadership in general and toxic leadership in particular, a subject he is studying as part of a Doctorate of Business Administration program at Bradford University. Post his Coca-Cola career, he aspires to either teach or create a leadership institute that educates companies on the harmful impact of toxic leadership. He is the father of three young daughter and hope to one day publish his first book titled “4 Leadership Lessons from an Illiterate Mother.” 

Ravi was previously the Head of Market Insights Google India, involved in developing digital measurement solutions for digital and cross media advertising effectiveness. Prior to that he was Head of Research & Product Planning – Youth Channels, for Disney India, which entailed periodic brand tracks for Bindass and Disney channels, content testing for original productions for the Youth and Kids network, as well as studies to determine trends amongst Kids and Youth and consumer insights for the South Asian community in UK for a Hindi Movie Channel. As Director Product Planning for youth channels Ravi planned short and long term strategy of two youth channels including the programming grid, channel distribution and channel strategy.

Past experiences as Director of Research for a pan-Indian overnight TV ratings service gave insights into media measurement and media consumers. The years as a full time faculty at MICA and a long stint with The Times of India equipped him to understand the industry drivers and pain points of the traditional media industry.

Don Lloyd has served as the Global Managing Partner of Oil & Gas at ERM. He has over 35 years of industrial experience including process operations, project management, process design, insurance, business risk management. He worked in a number of roles/sectors including Head of Technical Services with CIGNA International Insurance; VP, Technical Services with Amersham plc; Dean of Brunel University Business School & Professor of Risk Management and Group Senior Vice President of HSSE & Asset Integrity at BG Group. He held HSSE roles in major companies such as Shell and Total. He served as Head of HSE at Genel Energy plc. Mr. Lloyd has been a Non Executive Director of LondonWaste Limited since 2016. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), an Independent Board Safety Advisor at NATS (UK Air Traffic Control Services), a Visiting Professor in Risk Management & Corporate Responsibility at Brunel University and Chair of the External Advisory Board at Brunel Business School. He is a chartered chemical engineer with an MSc and PhD (Risk Management) from Manchester University and an MSt (Sustainability Leadership) from Cambridge University.

Paula Vennells is Group Chief Executive of the Post Office. Joining in 2007, appointed Managing Director in 2010 and Chief Executive in 2012, she led its separation from Royal Mail Group in 2012 to establish an independent retail network of 11,600 branches, the largest in Europe.

Previously Paula spent five years with Whitbread.  She began her career with Unilever and L’Oreal and held directorships in sales and marketing with a number of major retailers including Argos where she was instrumental in creating one of the UK’s first profitable e-commerce businesses.

Paula is currently a Non-Executive Director of Morrisons Plc.  She is Chairman of First Rate Exchange Services Ltd., a Trustee of Hymns Ancient and Modern and a Governor of Bedford School. 

Paula holds a BA (Hons) in Russian, French and Economics from the University of Bradford and a Diploma in Theology from Oxford University.  She is an ordained minister within the Church of England. Paula is married to John and they have two sons.

Professor Galliers is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Bentley University in Boston, USA, having served as Provost during the period 2002-2009, and as the University Distinguished Professor subsequently, until his retirement in 2017. Bentley gained EQUIS and EDMBA accreditation under his leadership and AACSB and NEASC accreditations were reconfirmed in addition. 

Previously, he was Professor of Information Systems and Research Director in the Department of Information Systems at the London School of Economics (LSE). Before joining the LSE, he served as Lucas Professor of Business Management Systems and Dean of Warwick Business School, and earlier as Foundation Professor and Head of the School of Information Systems at Curtin University in Australia.

He serves on the international advisory boards of a number of business schools, including those at the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands; Turku University, Finland, and the National University of Ireland, Galway. He served on EFMD's EQUIS Accreditation Board for the period 2009-2016 and its Global Network Americas Advisory Board from 2014 to 2016. He also served and on the Guide’s Scientific Committee as the nominee of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) from 2012 to 2016.

He holds an AB (honors) degree in Economics from Harvard University; a Master's degree with distinction in Management Systems from Lancaster University; a PhD in Information Systems from the London School of Economics, and an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from Turku School of Economics & Business Administration, Finland.

He is the editor-in-chief of The Journal of Strategic Information Systems; one of eight IS journals recognized for their quality by the Senior Scholars of the AIS. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and the Association for Information Systems (FAIS), of which he was President in 1999. He received the AIS LEO Award for exceptional lifetime achievement in Information Systems in 2012. He has been keynote speaker at more than 60 major international conferences and symposia including the European Conference on IS; the Australasian Conference on IS; the Scandinavian Conference on IS; the UKAIS Conference; and the Mediterranean Conference on IS.

His research is transdisciplinary in nature, focusing primarily on organizational innovation/transformation and the associated management of change issues; the processes and practices of information systems strategizing; organizational knowing, and the intra- and extra-organizational impacts of information & communication technologies. He has supervised 27 PhD students to completion and his work has been cited over 10,000 times according to Google Scholar.

Cordula has conceived various AeroSpace Management degree programmes (MBA, MiM…) and launched the first AeroSpace MBA Programme for Toulouse Business School in 1999-2000. She has also developed several international academic and corporate partnerships for TBS, particularly in the high-tech industry and the aerospace sector, recently with IIM Bangalore as well as with Air France Industries for Executive Education.

Her main research interests are in cross-cultural management and leadership, multi-cultural teams and workgroup diversity, culture change and corporate control. With these topics, she is a regular facilitator for Executive Development Programmes and works on various consulting, coaching and training assignments with corporations such as Airbus Group (formerly EADS), Thales Alenia Space, Alcatel Space, British Aerospace, EADS, ICL Europe, Paribas, Siemens, Sigfox and others. Cordula was for more than 10 years Visiting Professor at Arizona State University and continues to be invited by international university programmes around the world.

His research and teaching experience is in Accounting and Finance and his most recent research explores the economic model of European Football clubs. He earned his PhD from Bordeaux University for his research on performance management systems. He is a member of the Centre for Financial Risk Management at Audencia Business School.

Since September 2016 he has served on the Academic Board of the Football Business Academy (Geneva – Switzerland) and, since September 2017, on the International Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (Chengdu – China).

An 18 year experienced veteran at SAP, Phil has held leadership roles in Pre-Sales, Global Sales Operations, Business Development and Solution Management. In 2002, Phil relocated to the USA from his native England in 2002, and lives in the Boston area with his wife and 3 daughters.

Professor Zahir Irani joined the University of Bradford as Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law in December 2016.  During 2018, after a School of Management restructure, Professor Irani brought together the Faculty of Management & Law with Social Sciences to create a new Faculty of Management, Law & Social Sciences.  In 2019, Professor Irani accepted a University-wide position as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Quality & Innovation) on an interim basis whilst maitining leadership oversight as Dean of the Faculty and will continue to be an Ex Officio member of the International Advisory Board.

Prior to arriving at the University of Bradford, Professor Irani has held several senior management positions at Brunel University London, the most recent of which being the Dean of College (Business, Arts and Social Sciences - CBASS) which he set up following an organisational restructuring from eight schools into three colleges.

Prior to this role, he was seconded full-time to Whitehall, where he was a Senior Policy Advisor at the Cabinet Office during part of the coalition Government.

He is however most proud of being Head of the Brunel Business School, which in 2013 was awarded the Times Higher Education Business School of the Year under his leadership.

He completed a BEng (Hons) at Salford University before then accepting a research position in industry where he finished his Master’s degree by research.

He has a PhD in the area of investment evaluation and undertook his leadership development at the Harvard Business School.

He was also an appointed member of the Institute of Energy Futures at Brunel University London and a past member of Senate. Amir has previously held a number of senior leadership and management roles within Brunel Business School, including as Head of School and also has been Assistant Head, Acting Director of the Doctoral Programme, Director of MBA Programmes, and Director of Teaching and Learning.

Prior to his academic career, Amir worked extensively within the Financial Services and Professional Services sector, working for and consulting with many of the world’s leading multinational corporations, including JPMorgan, UBS Investment Bank, KPMG Consulting, BAE Systems, Sony, and the BBC. He brings a wealth of experience in terms of both internationalisation of programmes and overseas global partnerships (predominantly across MENA, GCC and South Asia) – and has successfully lead, directed and contributed to key accreditations including AACSB and AMBA. In parallel with his industry experiences, Amir remained and continues to be research-active and continues to be an active member on grant funding bodies. He has been re-elected in successive years to be a member of the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Peer Review College, whilst also having provided his expertise to a number of other leading national and international research funding bodies such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), European Commission (EU), the British Academy, the British Council, the Czech Research Foundation (CRF), the Danish National Research Foundation (DNRF), the Natural and National Science Foundation of China (NNSFC), and the Qatar National Research Foundation (QNRF).

His key teaching and research interests cross a diverse mix of topics including Operations and Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Knowledge Management and Leadership Decision-Making and Operations Research. These are across a range of sectors such as manufacturing, FMCG, central and local government, humanitarian logistics, financial services, and more recently, food security / waste, the food-energy-water nexus and the circular economy. As the Head of Operations, Chris is a member of the faculty executive team and works strategically to support the strategic direction and development of the faculty.  He leads faculty operations and a dynamic administrative team to shape and deliver an effective, flexible and responsive service to support positive shifts in organisational culture and transformational change. 

Prior to joining higher education, Chris worked extensively across the National Health Service at local and national level and brought about transformational change and embraced the use of technology to improve patient care and positive outcomes.

Within the academic environment he has held a number of senior administrative posts, during which time he has acquired knowledge and experience in programme design, admissions and recruitment, resource management, faculty development and HE QA, particularly assurance of learning and assessment.

He has experience of preparing for and leading audits for the School's accreditation bodies (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB) and as a member of the Association of MBAs Assessor panel has undertaking audits in the Netherlands, Spain and Poland.

Academic interests

Academically, Roger has an eclectic interest in operations management, which is reflected in his research, doctoral supervisions and teaching, which includes information technology, strategic and operational flexibility, organisational behaviour (networking and reliability), project management, supply chain management and more recently, sustainability.

Martin was previously the Dean of Leeds Business & Law and opened £50 Million Rose Bowl complex. Ex Head of International Banking Division and Corporate and Commercial Banking teams across the UK in RBS/NW Group as well as ex-Chairman of various civic organisations including Leeds Junior Chamber, British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association, Leeds Community Foundation.
