Majid Aminzare

Biography

Dr Majid Aminzare is an Associate Professor in Accounting at the University of Bradford School of Management. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the Accounting, Finance and Economics Research Centre at the School of Management. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to teaching, he was awarded Teaching Excellence by the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at the University of Bradford School of Management in 2024. He was also awarded a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Bradford School of Management in 2025.

Dr Aminzare is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) and holds Certificates of Competency in Business Taxation and Accounting Principles from the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT), one of the world’s leading professional bodies in the tax profession. He also holds a Fundamental Level Certificate from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Since joining academia in 2010, he has been nominated more than seven times by students through student-led teaching awards, including Inspirational Teaching Award, Lecturer of the Year Award, and Innovative Teaching Award.

He earned his BSc in Business Economics from the University of Tehran and an MSc in Banking Management from the Iranian Banking Higher Education Institute. He also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Bradford School of Management in June 2021.

Dr Aminzare is a qualified accountant with over 25 years of professional experience providing tax and accounting services to businesses and individuals in the UK and internationally. His industry experience includes working as a Foreign Exchange Expert at Bank Melli Iran, Financial Analyst at Melli Bank plc (London), International Accounts Manager at PPP UK Limited, Contract Client Manager at Calcutt Matthews (Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors), and Head of Finance at The Document Warehouse (UK) Ltd.

With more than 14 years of hands-on experience using Sage Line 50 Accounts and Payroll, he has obtained all relevant Sage certifications. This expertise has enabled him to design and deliver Sage Accounts and Payroll workshops for accounting and finance students since 2010, and more recently for directors and managers of local businesses through the University of Bradford Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). These initiatives have provided participants with practical, industry-relevant skills and have contributed positively to graduate employability outcomes.
