Publication Scheme

The University is required by the Freedom of Information Act to have a Publication Scheme. This is a list of classes of information the University published or intends to publish. In this context, 'publish' means to make information available, routinely.

At present the University’s Publication Scheme is under review as we move to a new website. Once this has happened, the Publication Scheme will be relaunched.

The Information Commissioner's Office has defined a model publication scheme that all public authorities should follow, and has issued guidance for Higher Education Institutions on what information should be published. There are seven classes of information within the scheme and these are described on the tabs below.

The list below gives an indication of the classes of information that is included in the Publication Scheme.

Who we are and what we do

This section relates to organisational information, structures, locations and contacts and includes the following types of information:

  • Legal Framework
  • How the University of Bradford is organised
  • Local and contact details
  • Lists of and information relating to organisations which the University has responsibility for, those it works in partnership with, those it sponsors and companies wholly owned by it.
  • Student activities

What we spend and how we spend it

This section relates to financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, procurement, contracts and financial audit and includes the following types of information:

  • Funding/income
  • Budgetary and account information
  • Financial audit reports

  • Financial regulations
  • Staff pay and grading structures
  • Register of suppliers
