The University of Bradford sits at the heart of the City of Bradford. As one of the city’s biggest employers, The University of Bradford maintains a range of partnerships with different stakeholders in the Bradford City Region.
The diverse Bradford city region is blessed with a fascinating history and culture, making it a destination of choice for students from across the globe. From engaging art and charming countryside through to the latest in science and media, Bradford has it all.
We maintain a number of valuable partnerships with stakeholders across the district. These include business, education, public, sport, community and voluntary sector groups. Through these partnerships we are able to extend our reach and our capacity to bring the work of the University to a wider audience.
Bradford Literature Festival
Since the outset, The University of Bradford has been a key partner and sponsor of the Bradford Literature Festival , now “one of the three most inspirational literature festivals in the UK”.
Our campus plays hosts to many of the festival’s key events, with strong involvement from staff across the University.
Bradford City of Film
The University of Bradford and Bradford City of Film work together to offer our students valuable experience from the partnerships and filming opportunities that being the world’s first UNESCO City of Film brings to the city.
The City of Film Team are now based on our City Campus, and our partnership has ensured that many filmmakers come to Bradford to take advantage of the fantastic locations and available talent pool.
National Science and Media Museum
A shared passion for Bradford being a city that celebrates science and technology drives the mutually beneficial partnership between the University of Bradford and the National Science and Media Museum.
We collaborate on cultural events and bids including the Bradford Science Festival.
Bradford City of Sanctuary
As one of the first universities to be awarded University of Sanctuary, Bradford City of Sanctuary is another project that we have strong involvement with.
Our work looks at how we can welcome and support asylum seekers and refugees in the region. This is part of a national initiative aimed at ensuring universities across the country foster a culture of welcome and inclusion for asylum seekers and refugees.
Bradford City Football Club
Professor David Sharpe founded The Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU) hosted at the University of Bradford following the 1985 fire disaster. The University and Club have worked together since, on fundraising for PSBRU and the promotion of match and season tickets amongst staff and students.
World Technology Universities Network
The World Technology Universities Network, founded by the University of Bradford, is a network of global technology universities committed to undertaking cutting-edge, challenge-led research with direct benefits to people and society, and providing education for the next generation of global citizens who will have to respond to the world’s 21st century challenges.
We are involved in collaborative partnerships with institutions in many parts of the world, and we are committed to providing excellent links with them.
