Appointments
Our appointments are impartial and confidential and are open to University of Bradford students and recent graduates. We are available to help and look forward to supporting you with your careers queries.
You could start with a 15-minute drop-in any weekday (10:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 14:00 (no need to book) or book a longer appointment for a more in-depth discussion.
Careers appointments
We offer a range of appointments, both face-to-face on campus and remote options via email, phone and video.
All appointments are bookable through our Handshake Career Centre portal.
- Please feel free to wear a mask when in the Careers space for your appointment (refer to the University's Coronavirus pages for the latest guidance).
- Please don't attend an appointment in person if you are feeling unwell - rebook for a later date or let us know and we can change your appointment to a phone, video or email session.

Drop-ins / quick queries (15 minutes)
Drop-in and quick queries appointments available every weekday from 10:00–12:00 and 13:00-15:00.
Drop-in sessions are now available for face-to-face chats in the Careers space in Student Central, or you can book in advance and select an appointment on campus in the Careers space, or contact by phone or video (choose your preference when booking).
We can help you with:
- Getting initial feedback on your CV or covering letter

- finding work experience or internships, including Summer Experience and Bradford Graduate Internships

45-minute guidance appointments are available every weekday

- exploring your career ideas and the range of options open to you
- getting feedback on your CV and covering letter
- postgraduate study options
- preparing for an interview
- a mock interview
- preparing for assessment centres

MBA guidance appointments
Our experienced and professional career consultants Gillian Coyle and Beverley Thomas offer appointments for MBA students.

Appointment Information
Please note:
- Please book your appointment in advance through Handshake Career Centre (except for Drop-in sessions)
- In line with University guidelines, we recommend that you wear a face covering whilst in the Careers space and during your appointment; hand sanitiser will be available in all appointment spaces; don't attend in person if you feel unwell.
- You cannot get support for academic course work through these appointments. Contact your module tutor directly if you require any help with an assignment. You can also get study skills help from the Academic Skills Advice service.
Keeping records:
- We encourage you to take your own notes at your guidance appointments. Any notes a career consultant takes in your appointment are stored confidentially and destroyed after two years in accordance with the University confidentiality policy.
- We keep a confidential record of your visit on our client database. This helps us to keep in touch with you and is limited to the nature of your enquiry.
