Please see the Library's information about accessing online resources. You will need your UoB username and password. In most cases you will need to select the Institution/Shibboleth route. Select or search for the University of Bradford for the list of institutions and then login with your UoB username and password.
How do I find journal articles?
If you know the details of the article you need check either Summon (search for the article) or the Library Catalogue (search for the journal). If you want to find articles on a particular topic you will need to use either Summon or specific journal article databases that are available via the Subject support webpages. For more information about searching databases please contact your Subject Librarian.
What are databases?
Databases list publications by author, title, publication name, year of publication and subject area. You can search these via Summon.
How do I access journal articles online?
Many journal articles are available online. You will need your University of Bradford username and password to access them.
Why can’t I see the full article even after putting in my University of Bradford username and password?
In most cases this will be because the University of Bradford does not have a subscription to the journal. To check if it is part of Bradford subscriptions check the Library Catalogue. Type in the title of the journal. If we have a subscription to the journal, the library catalogue will show you which years we have paid-for access and provide you with a direct link to the webpage where you can find the article. If there isn’t a record for the journal on the catalogue then the library does not have a subscription and you will not be able to view it online via us.
The University of Bradford has the journal I need but in paper only what shall I do?
If we only have paper copies of a journal you will need to submit an article request form. The article will be scanned and emailed to you. There isn't a charge for this service.
What if the University doesn’t have a subscription to the journal I need?
If we don’t have a subscription to a particular journal you will need to submit an article request form. The request will go to the Inter-Library Loans department who will obtain a copy of the article (normally from the British Library) and send it electronically to your university email address. There is a charge for this service.
