Welcome and ID check
If you are studying on campus this coming semester, you will be asked to complete a Welcome and ID Check session.
If you are not studying on campus or are doing a professional development course your ID will be checked remotely. Please see our New Student FAQ's for further information for Distance Learning students and CPD students
Your Welcome & ID check session
Welcome and ID Checks sessions take place on campus in the Welcome Point from 23 January onwards, we check your ID, verify the address you are living at whilst at University and also issue you with your student card.
What you need at your ID check session
You will need a form of identification with you at the Welcome and ID Check.
The following documents are acceptable forms of ID:
- UK Drivers Licence
- UK Birth Certificate
- National ID card (For EU students with settled status)
Please note we will always use your official name for our records, as showing on your ID.
Welcome & ID checks for International students
International students should bring your passport, entry visa, BRP card (if not collecting it from the university) and your qualification documents. Your ID check will take place in the Welcome Point in the atrium of the Richmond building in the week commencing Monday 16 January, you will need to book an appointment for this session.
