Ethics Committee

The University Ethics Committee has delegated authority from Council to consider ethical questions arising from all aspects of the University’s business and to determine necessary actions.  The Committee oversees and monitors the University Ethics Code and how the Code and principles contained within it are embedded across the University.

The Committee considers the procedures that underpin our Ethics Code, cases that are referred to it for decision and ethical issues that might have policy implications for the University.

This Committee does not deal with research relates student and staff ethics applications or other research queries. These are dealt with as part of the Research Ethics Committee via The Researcher Development Concordat

Ethics Code

The Committee considers the procedures that underpin our cases that are referred to it for decision and ethical issues that might have policy implications for the University.

Ethical Framework

The Committee has oversight of the Ethical Framework of the University which comprises a comprehensive set of principles, policies and procedures which together demonstrate the ethical standards that the University sets across all of its activities.

Meeting Dates 2022-23

  • Friday 11 November 2022 (deadline for receipt of papers 12 noon, 28 October 2022),
  • Friday 07 July 2023 (deadline for receipt of papers 12 noon, 23 June 2023).

NB Late documents will not normally be accepted and will be deferred to the next meeting.
