Healthcare

There's huge scope in health care for visual image data processing. By speeding up analysis of 3D scan and image data, we're helping the medical profession take great strides towards efficient measurement, diagnostics and patient care.

We are a world-leader in the analysis of satellite images, particularly for space-weather applications. We already have successful collaborations with key industry partners in NASA and ESA, and are applying our techniques in a growing number of areas.

Computer-based simulation

This is one of our main research fields. By modelling 3D images and developing real-time networked applications for design collaboration, we're helping commercial partners solve everyday design problems (and even saving CO2 along the way…).

Funding your Business Innovation

The University can access a number of different funding sources for businesses to work with our academics and students. Our staff have valuable experience in submitting successful bids to these funding sources and would be happy to discuss which options are the most suitable for the type of work you would like us to support.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, funded by Innovate UK, are one of the largest graduate recruitment programmes across Britain. They are a great way for organisations to gain up to 50% of the cost of a strategic research project with a University.  The University have supported in excess of 80 KTPs and has over a decade of experience in this area. 

Innovate UK also offer additional funding options for both large and small organisations, including sector-focussed funding and the Open Programme.
