The Outreach and Recruitment team

Annie started at the University of Bradford in 2018 in the Events and Partnerships team, where she assisted the delivery of various university-wide events such as graduation ceremonies and the Team Bradford Festival. Since 2019, she has been working as UK International Recruitment Officer, supporting international students already studying in the UK. Annie would love to connect with schools and colleges and deliver a wide range of enrichment activities such as campus visits, academic workshops or one-to-one consultancy to international students. Chelsea has worked in the Outreach and Recruitment Team at the University of Bradford since 2021, after previously working at Huddersfield New College (her old sixth form). She has a Masters in Occupational and Organisational Psychology.

Chelsea works with schools and colleges to support students in the application to University. She facilitates on campus events, outreach and academic talks both virtually and in person as well as offers support to potential students. She specifically deals with any students who are interested in the Nursing Mid-Yorkshire Programme, anyone who has previously had care experience, student ambassadors and deals with queries regarding outreach webinars.

Paula Hatcliffe started work at the University of Bradford 7 days before lockdown – a baptism of fire! She works as an Outreach & Recruitment Officer and loves working with prospective students, their teachers and parents and carers supporting their journey into university. Prior to working at the University Paula spent many years as an actor, director and writer touring the country and working in theatre, film, and television under her British Actors Equity name.  She is also a poet, performing her work across the region. 

Andrew began working at the University in December 2019. He previously worked for the charity, The Challenge, delivering the National Citizen Service programme in the Bradford region. Prior to living in the UK, Andrew worked as an actor and director in Melbourne Australia for over twenty years. He has appeared at the Great Yarmouth Out There Festival as Rodin’s The Thinker.

Noreen joined the University of Bradford in June 2022. She is a former student who graduated with a marketing degree. Her role as Post 16 Recruitment Officer is very specialist in that she provides bespoke outreach to various faculties as well as working with schools, colleges, and external stakeholders. Noreen brings a wealth of experience to the role with her background in marketing and events management as well from her time as a former Business Lecturer. Caroline joined the University of Bradford in September 2020. She started working in the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics as Marketing Manager covering a maternity post. Caroline then moved to join the Outreach and Recruitment Team in May 2021. She hasn’t looked back since and loves her role as Senior Recruitment and Outreach Officer. Caroline supports the team day to day operationally and leads on supporting Adult Learners.

After completing a Marketing degree, Caroline has worked in Arts Marketing, Retail and in Industry in Marketing roles. Her role in Higher Education however has given her the greatest job satisfaction.

When Caroline is not at work or tweeting about work, she can be found on the boat sailing around the Isles of Scilly or walking in the Yorkshire Dales.

Marianne is the Recruitment & Outreach Team Assistant, supporting the Recruitment & Outreach Officers in their work

Marianne has worked in 5 areas of the University since 2015 and in her current role for 6 years

She previously worked in industry and had no experience in education, and really loves the difference that the team is able to make, helping potential students through their journey into Higher Education, giving them the best possible experience

In the absence of the Officers, Marianne will usually be the first point of contact for enquiries. 

Fun Fact: Marianne used to make regular trips to her friend’s dairy farm in France to milk cows!

Kirsty joined the University of Bradford in July 2019 as Student marketing Manager covering a maternity post. This role covered marketing strategies and planning, advertising and on campus events. Kirsty became Outreach and Recruitment Manager in July 2020.

Kirsty has over 14 years experience of working in FE and HE and has held management roles during this time in marketing, event management, business development, admissions, enrolments, exams, and recruitment. Prior to working in education, Kirsty worked in the private sector with a focus on direct and online marketing.

When Kirsty isn’t at work, she can be found gardening, doing family history research or fossil hunting – in the hope of finding a dinosaur one day.

Nigel has worked in the Outreach and Recruitment Team at the University of Bradford since 2021, after previously working at the Engineering Development Trust as a Manager on their UK university STEM summer school programme.

As well as working with schools and colleges to support students in their applications to university, Nigel provides specialist help to refugees and asylum seekers seeking to access higher education. He manages our Progression Scheme and Future Programmes that offer students opportunities to a reduced entrance criteria when applying to University of Bradford. Nigel has a keen interest in open water swimming so is always on the lookout for a suitable lake to take a dip.
