How to join our nursery
Here you can find information on the process of admissions, enrolment, settling in, and the details of fees and funding.
Joining our nursery
We encourage all prospective parents and carers to book a viewing of the Nursery, where you can get a feel for the space and ask any questions you may have.
To secure your place, we ask for a deposit based on a weeks’ worth of fees, following this we will book settling in visits and a start date.
All children are allocated a key person, who will work closely with yourselves as parents and carers to ensure all information is communicated during the settling-in period.
We have a full enrolment pack which must be completed during your child’s first visit or before, this includes an application form, an all about me document, and a parent/carer declaration.

- Any deductions to costs due to your child reaching the age of 3 years, will be made to the term following your child’s 3rd Birthday in line with the Universal Early Education Funding (EEF) entitlement. Please read the ‘15/30 Hours Funded Hours Guidance’ document for full details on EEF hours and how these are delivered within the nursery alongside any consumable charges.
Government-funded hours
We offer early-education funding for children aged from 9 months up to school age. Under the current government scheme, eligible working families can access 30 hours of funded childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months old, depending on individual eligibility. All children are entitled to 15 government-funded hours of early education from the term after their 3rd birthday, regardless of parental working status. In addition, 2-year-olds whose families receive certain forms of support may also receive 15 funded hours.
Children become eligible for each entitlement from the term after their relevant birthday. To find out what funding your child may receive, parents and carers are encouraged to use the online childcare support checker by visiting the Best Start in Life website. We provide a funded-hours information document at viewings or on enrolment to help families choose the sessions that best meet their needs.
Meal costs
Consumables such as nappies, wipes, snacks and meals are included when children attend during chargeable hours. For children accessing government-funded hours, these consumables are not covered by the funding. Families can choose to pay an optional consumables charge, which ensures that everything your child needs for the day is provided by the nursery.
If you prefer not to pay this charge, you are welcome to supply your own items, including nappies, wipes, snacks and meals. A policy and packed-lunch guidance document is available on request during nursery viewings.

Enrolment
Step 1 - Enquiry form
Fill out our enquiry form.
Step 2 - Visit the Nursery
We encourage all our families to look around the Nursery setting in person to see what we offer and meet the staff team. This also provides you with an opportunity to ask any questions and to see the Nursery in action. If you cannot visit in person, we have a virtual tour that allows you to see the facility. We can check availability at this time if you would like to secure a place.
Step 3 – Initial Registration
Some initial details are required if you would like to secure a place for your child at our Nursery. At this time, we will discuss with you what days are available and book any settling-in visits based on your request. We will also work out your deposit at this stage as we move onto step 3 of enrolment.
Step 4 – Deposit
To secure your child’s place, we require a non-refundable deposit equivalent to a 1-weeks’ fee. This is deducted from your first monthly invoice. Once your deposit is paid, we can then move on to step 4 of enrolment. Spaces are only held for a maximum of 24-hours, subject to your deposit being paid. Please note the deposit scheme does not apply to parents/carers only accessing fully funded hours.
Step 5 – Confirmation email
Once you have paid your deposit, please ensure you inform the office so we can check with our finance department. We will then send out a confirmation email to confirm your child’s place is secure and re-confirm settling in visits, as per the initial registration. Our places are in high demand, until you have received a confirmation email from us your child’s place is not secured.
Step 6 - Attend Settling-In Visits and Complete the New Starter Pack
Please ensure your child attends all of their settling-in visits, more information on these is set out below.
You must complete all administrative documents prior to/or during your child’s first settling in session, your child is not able to be left at the Nursery until we have checked that all the paperwork has been completed.
Settling-in
Starting nursery is a big step and we want to make sure that our children feel as comfortable and confident as possible. Therefore, it is important to have settling-in sessions to enable your child to build positive relationships with their key person, peers, and the wider staff team.
Everyone reacts differently to change and we want to reassure you as parents and carers that we understand how difficult settling-in can be. Your child’s key person will ensure that your child is supported throughout their visits.
You can ring the Nursery at any time for reassurance and can also request a call back from your child’s key person during your child’s visits.
Settling-in visits
All children starting with us have a minimum of 3 settling-in sessions. An example of this is below, but some children require more sessions to make them feel comfortable, so your visit plan will be based on individual needs.
- 1st - 1-hour visit, parent/carer to stay with their child
- 2nd - 2-hour visit, parent/carer offered to stay for the first ½ hour if they wish
- 3rd - 3-hour visit, child to stay for lunch or snack tea
During the first visit, your child’s key person will discuss your child’s specific individual requirements, current development levels, and areas of interest.
Home visits
We offer a home visit from a member of the management team and your child’s key person. Having nursery staff visit your home environment helps to establish good relationships with each child and their family.
This allows a smoother transition as the children feel reassured by seeing familiar faces when they start nursery.
A thorough and sensitive settling-in period helps children to feel safe and secure.
