Ousman Sowe appointed as Director General of Gambia SIS

Bradford's International Politics and Security Studies graduate, Ousman Sowe has been appointed as the new Director General of the State Intelligence Service (SiS) of Gambia.

Before his appointment earlier this month, Ousman was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Ousman has served in various Government Offices and capacities, including as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Fisheries, and deputy permanent Secretary, Office of the President.

Ousman graduated from the University of Bradford in 2001 with an MA in International Politics and Security Studies. He also holds a Masters in Diplomacy from the University of Malta and a BA in Development Studies and English from St. Mary’s University, Canada, among other qualifications.
