Bradford Computing Enterprise Centre Official opening

Friday 8 April 2017 saw the Bradford Computing Enterprise Centre (BCEC) officially opened by some very prestigious industry guests. Professor Martin Priest, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Transfer, opened the proceedings by welcoming in the visitors on behalf of the Faculty.

Special guest openers of the BCEC, Jacqui Taylor CEO and Ian Taylor CTO from Flying Binary shared with the consortium, an insight into some cutting edge, high profile work that they are undertaking which will influence our communities and society as a whole. Jacqui discussed big data and its impact and then Ian followed on with a very detailed example of this in real terms.

The guests were also introduced to the first two projects funded to start within the Bradford Computing Enterprise Centre.

, , presented some of the issues the health industry are facing and the solutions CT-Sim project proposes for training specialist in Medical Image Processing to help combat these issues. CT-Sim project is funded by the Health Education England Fund, and supported by Faculties of Health Studies and Engineering & Informatics.

Professor Felician Campean introduced the Advanced Automotive Analytics (AAA) project that will produce solutions for 4 case studies in collaboration with national partners from the automotive and transportation industries. The AAA project is funded by HEIF through the , and supported by the Schools of and .
