University of Bradford alumnus and Labour MP, Steve McCabe, profiled by FE Week

Labour MP for Birmingham and Selly Oak and University of Bradford alumnus Steve McCabe is profiled by FE week focussing on his educational path, his own contribution to further education and his political career.

After working in social care for ten years, Steve completed a Masters degree in social work here at the University of Bradford in 1986 before switching his focus to education as he worked as a college lecturer and then regional adviser for the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work. A career in politics then followed as Steve became a councillor in 1990 and then an MP in 1997 where he has continued to have an active role in education.
