Mentor of the Year nomination for the Student Nursing Times Awards

Published:

The University of Bradford has been shortlisted in the Mentor of the Year category for the Student Nursing Times Awards 2016.

Debra Fox, a District Nurse at the Hillside and Barkerend District Nursing Team in Bradford, has received the nomination, having been put forward by 2nd year Adult Nursing student Kim Selby.

The nomination recognises Debra's outstanding contribution to the practice education of our nursing students.

A good mentor can shape the student nurse and midwife, and help inspire and motivate them throughout their course as well as their chosen career. Good mentors demonstrate empathy with their student, adapting their coaching methods to suit the individual and provide an environment that encourages questions, informed debate and learning.

The award ceremony takes place on the 28th April 2016 at the London Hilton, Park Lane. The University of Bradford is also sponsoring the Student Nurse of the Year: Adult award.
