HeRC Doctoral Training Scheme

The Health eResearch Centre (HeRC) has established a 3 year doctoral training scheme to fund PhD studentships across institutional partners, including the University of Bradford.

Students will be based at the University of Bradford but will form part of a HeRC Doctoral Training Network that will provide integrated and co-ordinated training from across collaborating institiutions.

There will also be opportunity to transfer knowledge between sites and with external collaborators including NHS, industry partners and other academic institutions.

The three projects available are:

  1. What do participants in the Born in Bradford (BiB) cohort want and not want from their health records and why?
  2. Developing a “people like me” approach to estimating risk of obesity using participants in the Born in Bradford (BiB) cohort
  3. Patient consent to share data in their electronic health records: exploring issues and surfacing the complexities
