Our Outreach & Recruitment Team will be delivering the session, with the support of our Student Ambassadors. In this information session, we are aiming to support parents and carers of Y11 (17:30 - 18:30), Y12 (18:30 - 19:30) and Y13 (19:30 - 20:30) and give guidance and top tips for helping your young person to achieve the very best outcomes for their journey into Higher Education. You are welcome to attend all three sessions, two sessions or just come to the one most relevant to your young person(s). There will be time for a Q&A at the end of each session. Sessions will include: Y11 session (17:30 – 18:30): Going to university – context, outcomes, opportunity and lifestyle Supporting your young person to start engaging with universities and do some research Choosing Level 3 subjects STEMM – breaking stereotypes A brief introduction to student finance Meet our student ambassadors Q&A Y12 session (18:30 – 19:30): Going to university – context, outcomes, opportunity and lifestyle Student Finance Personal Statements Research and how to find the relevant information Things to look out for at Open days Hearing our Student Ambassadors Experiences Q&A Y13 session (19:30 – 20:30): Supporting study and revision UCAS and making applications Helping with research Supporting your young person with gaining work experience/ volunteer work Student Life Choosing a university – things to think about Plan B Foundations Years Hearing the experiences of our Student Ambassadors Q&A These sessions are a really great opportunity to understand the next steps for your young person and will provide tips and advice on how to best support them into Higher Education.
