On this page you can find out where your Welcome and ID check will take place and what you need to bring with you.
Your Welcome and ID check session
Welcome and ID Checks take place on campus, we check your ID, confirm the address you are living at whilst you are studying at the University and also issue you with your student card.
If you are receiving a student loan the University will only confirm your registration to Student Finance/SAAS when your Welcome and ID check is completed. Once completed your registration will be confirmed within 2 working days.
If you require any additional support to be able to attend your Welcome and ID check on campus please email the Welcome team on welcome@bradford.ac.uk.
What you need at your ID check session
You will need a form of identification with you at the Welcome and ID Check session.
Your ID needs to be in date, photocopies and photographs will not be accepted.
The following documents are acceptable forms of ID:
- Passport
- UK Drivers Licence
- UK Birth Certificate
- National ID card (For EU students with settled status)
Please note we will always use your official name for our records, as showing on your ID.
Welcome and ID checks for International students
International students complete their ID check with the Visa Support Team. You should bring your passport, entry visa, eVisa share code and your qualification documents.
International enrolment can be very busy, please arrive early to avoid disappointment. On busy days students who arrive later in the day may be asked to return the following day.

Welcome and ID checks for Distance Learning students
Distance Learning students complete their ID check online using Microsoft Teams. When you have completed your online enrolment we will reach out to make an appointment. You will need to come on camera so we can check your ID and confirm your contact details.
