Biography

Atif Imtiaz has a PhD in social psychology at the London School of Economics on ‘Identity and the Politics of Representation: The Case of Muslim Youth in Bradford’. He has worked in policy as an Equality and Diversity manager at NHS Bradford and Airedale. Atif was previously the Academic Director at Cambridge Muslim College from 2010-2018. He has also been an Affiliated Lecturer at the Divinity Faculty, University of Cambridge since 2012.

Atif is interested in researching policing approaches to community engagement, prevent, deradicalisation, Islamophobia and media representations of crime.

Atif is interested in teaching on crime and the media, Islamophobia, aspects of policing especially in relation to engagement with communities, prevent and theoretical approaches to criminology.
