Biography
- Matt Hardy's PhD research focused on the development of an assay to detect proarrhythmic potential in pharmaceutical test compounds. To this end, he continued his interests in cardiovascular (patho)physiology by undertaking research positions in the areas of cardiac dysfunction during sepsis, heterogeneity in the right failing ventricle (University of Leeds) and mechanisms of cardiac anoxia tolerance (University of Manchester).
- He also has a strong interest in teaching biosciences, as well as in pedagogical research, with focuses in the areas of biology and academic skills development. Prior to his current position he has worked delivering academic skills in the Leeds University Library and also as a teaching Fellow in Cardiovascular Sciences.
