Dr. Jyoti Devi Mahadeo

Biography

Dr Brinda Mahadeo is an Assistant Professor in Strategic Management and Leadership at the School of Management, University of Bradford.  She holds BA(Hons) and MA(Econ) from the University of Manchester, and PhD in Management from the University of Technology, Mauritius and the University of Nottingham. She completed her PG Cert in Academic Practice at the University of Auckland.  

Brinda has held various academic positions in Australasia at the University of Auckland, University of Tasmania and the Eastern Institute of Technology, and in Africa at the University of Mauritius and University of Technology, Mauritius. Her research is interdisciplinary in nature, and centres around the broad Corporate Governance theme. Her current research deals with board diversity and the paradox of shareholder and stakeholder primacy.  She has published in journals such as Business and Society, Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, and the Journal of International Business Education among others. 

She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Business Ethics, and she made the list of 2021 JBE Top Reviewers. She had also been on several national and international funded research projects both as Principal Investigator and member.
