Biography
Erebi Ndoni is a multi-disciplinary law lecturer and
researcher with over a decade of experience in teaching and research. She was an
Assistant Professor at the American University of Nigeria. She is an alumnus of
the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of
Dundee where she obtained her LLM in Petroleum Law and Policy and her PhD. She
also has a master’s specialization in International Economic Law and Policy
from the University of Barcelona, Spain.
Prior to her academic career, she worked
as Company Secretary/Senior Legal Counsel for Century Group, an indigenous oil
and gas firm in Nigeria.
She has consulted on
gender and inclusion-related projects for some United Nations Organizations
including the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations
Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UNWOMEN) in developing
and facilitating courses, trainings, and advocacy materials on Sexual and
Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) and
Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). She worked with the Yar’Adua Foundation
in Nigeria to develop safeguarding policies and a whistleblowing platform
against sexual harassment in Nigerian universities under the gender justice
project. With a Master of Arts degree in Education, Inclusion and Special Needs, she ardently advocates for educational equity irrespective of background, identity or demographic characteristics.
The central premise of her research is the achievement
of sustainable development by developing economies which has fostered a
long-standing interest on intersecting thematic areas such as the environment,
natural resources, international trade, gender studies, disability rights, and
social responsibility.
Erebi is licensed to practice
law in Nigeria and is a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales. She is one of the coordinators of International Research
Collaborative (IRC) 20 of the Law and Society Association. Some of her
professional affiliations include the African International Economic Lawyers
Network and the Society of International Economic Lawyers (SIEL).
