Claire Folan
Biography
Claire is a Chartered Physiotherapist. She graduated from
the University of Bradford in 2000, and worked across Yorkshire and the North
West in a range of clinical settings. In 2006, Claire started to work in
community care settings, and remained in the community until she joined the
University of Bradford in 2021 as an Assistant Professor .
Claire has a breadth of clinical experience, particularly in
crisis management, intermediate care, elderly rehabilitation, falls and frailty.
She held Clinical Lead roles within Intermediate Care bedded settings and a
Falls Prevention Service, developing practice and policies within these
specialities for physiotherapists and other health and social care professionals.
From 2016, Claire worked in leadership and management roles,
initially as an operational Team Leader, then progressing to senior management, with strategic,
quality and governance responsibility for a portfolio of multi-disciplinary/multi-professional
community therapy services including Intermediate Care, Reablement, Stroke
Early Supported Discharge and Community Rehabilitation. Claire has completed an MSc
in Leadership, Management and Change in Health and Social Care.
