Claire is a Clinical Assistant Professor in nursing at the University of Bradford within the Faculty of Health Studies. She is a registered children's nurse, non-medical prescriber and advanced paediatric clinical practitioner.
Claire qualified from the University
of Bradford in 2009. From here she chose to work in various
fields within paediatrics including an acute medical ward, HSJ award-winning ACE team and Bradford Teaching Hospital's accident and emergency department. Gaining this extensive experience allowed her to expand her knowledge and clinical decision-making to provide holistic care to children and young people
with acute, complex, and chronic conditions.
In 2020 she became an advanced paediatric clinical practitioner and non-medical prescriber and she chose to master her skills in paediatric emergency medicine. She graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Master of Medical Science in advanced paediatric practice.
Alongside working at the university she currently works as an advanced clinical practitioner at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice which enables her to remain current and credible in the field of children's palliative care.
