Dr. Boakye Boampong

Biography

Dr Boakye Boampong is a lecturer inInternational Business and the programme leader for the BSc International Business and Management Programme at the School of Management. He holds a PhD inDevelopment Economics from the University of Bradford, an MSc in ProjectPlanning and Management, a PGCE in Education, and a BSc (hons) in Land Economy.Prior to joining the University of Bradford, Boakye worked as a teacher inSecondary education having achieved Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the Departmentfor Education, UK.Boakye’s research interests includeexploring the effects of project risk management on project successparticularly in development project environments, international businessexpansion and adaptiveness, strategic human resource management, stakeholderinfluence on project risk management and sustainable development. His work hasbeen published in the Journal of International Development and he has successfullysupervised several postgraduate dissertations across this area. Boakye is a member of several professionalbodies (HEA, APM, CIPD) and has been invited to speak at Universities, Secondary Schools, Government departments and NGOs in Ghana, the UK, and France. As aprofessional teacher, Boakye adopts a practice-based approach to teaching andlearning and was very instrumental in identifying and developing potentialduring his time as a teacher in secondary education. His teaching interests are in InternationalBusiness Strategy, Cross-cultural Management, Human Resource Management andDevelopment, and Project Management.
