Biography
I completed my PhD in 2015 (Spectroscopic and diffraction analysis
of whole soil and volcanic tephras) and joined the Analytical Centre in 2016 as a
Project Analyst; a role dedicated to the management and delivery
of commercial projects. In 2020 I became Lecturer in Forensic Science in the school of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences and I am currently programme lead for the BSc
Forensic Science degree
My research activities have been varied but generally have revolved around the application of Raman spectroscopy to items of cultural heritage. More recently I have been involved in the authentication of art works, working with 3 John Constable paintings, A Rafael and a Ruben (all purported). I am also a mission scientist for the European Space Agency’s ExoMars mission, working on the development of the on-board database.
