Biography
I studied Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Hertfordshire,
after graduating in 2010 I took up a post as a rotational radiographer at the
Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. In 2016, I moved to Essex and took up a post
as a senior radiographer, it was here my interest in radiography education and
teaching developed. I worked alongside the department’s practice
educator to deliver tutorials and support students from the University of Suffolk
in their clinical practice. In 2020, I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in
Academic Practice. Following the completion of this course, I continued to
pursue my interest in instructing and supporting student radiographers. I enjoy
working with students and find teaching them to be very rewarding.
I joined the University of Bradford as a clinical teacher in
August 2021. My role as a clinical teacher involves teaching and supporting
students in their learning of general healthcare and radiography-specific
clinical skills, for the first-year students this is done through simulated
practice, using the X-ray, PACs, and VR suites on campus. My role also involves
liaising with the clinical staff at our placement sites and supporting them in
supporting the students learning and assessment while on placement.
