Partnerships with the Department of Social Work and Social Care

Working with us

Our students are positively encouraged to engage with, inform, and shape the curriculum.  For example, if you are passionate about a particular issue or cause, this can be discussed and form part of your curriculum.

Alongside our students (through their Social Justice Society) we are engaged in community activism.

Professional and industry partners

We have very strong relations with a wide range of partner agencies. In particular, we are founding members of the Bradford Social Work Teaching Partnership (University of Bradford, Bradford College, and Bradford Council).

Some our local partners include:

We also have strong international, research, and teaching links with the Arctic University, Norway, and Bielefeld University, Germany.

School's outreach

The division of Social Work and Social Care is committed to investing in the future of young people. From Open Events to taster sessions, we can support your school or college.

If you would like to discuss forming a partnership with the School, please get in touch with our Head of Department, Robert Strachan.

Community outreach

The Social Work and Social Care division are actively involved with our local community.  Together with the student-led Social Justice Society, we have campaigned against hate crime, raised money and bought supplies for our local food bank, organised flash mobs to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and organised a sponsored sleepout. And these are just a few examples!
