Alumni Networking Lunch, Lagos, 21 April 2018

As part of the University's delegation visit to West Africa an alumni networking lunch was hosted in Lagos on Saturday 21 April 2018 with more than 50 alumni and friends in attendance.

Professor Uduak Archibong welcomed guests to the reception at the Radisson Ikeja Hotel and introduced members of the University delegation which also included Mark Garratt, Director of External Affairs, Professor Engobo Emeseh, Head of Law School; Dr Sheillah Chimungeni, Regional Manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa and America regions; Jonaid Khan, Alumni Manager; Zainab Garba-Sani, Academic Affairs Sabbatical Officer; and Eseoghene Oluwayomi, Recruitment Officer for Nigeria.

In his address, Mark Garratt, talked about the University’s development as a world-leading technology university and highlighted the significant impact made by Bradford alumni worldwide including across Africa and in Nigeria. He also talked about the many ways Braduates could continue to support and contribute to the University’s future success.

The University has more than 4,000 alumni across Africa with over 1,200 known to be based in Nigeria. Chief Johnson Barovbe, MBA 1979, Director of Westminster College, Lagos, welcomed and thanked the delegation to Nigeria on behalf of the alumni community in Lagos. Chief Barovbe also delivered an inspirational short talk for the alumni and friends present reminding them of their duty to promote their alma mater and encouraging them to form an active alumni community in Lagos.
