University lecture will explore obesity
The University of Bradford will host a lecture next Wednesday (April 16) which will look at development and risk factors for obesity, from childhood to adulthood in a wider global context.
Dr Eleanor Bryant, Lecturer in Psychology at the University will be joined by Professor Barbara Stewart-Knox from the University of Bradford and Professor Stanley Ulijaszek from the University of Oxford to discuss adult and child obesity, what causes it and what can we do about it.
The lecture will look at obesity in infancy including infant feeding behaviour, some of the psychological and biological risk factors for obesity in adults, psychological eating behaviour traits and global nutritional anthropology.
Dr Eleanor Bryant said: “This is a unique opportunity to see three experts bring a unique slant on the current obesity epidemic across the world.
“Each academic is known internationally for the research they carryout in the field of obesity so this should make a very interesting talk for all. We hope it will open debate and be a step to tackling this issue.”
The lecture takes place on Wednesday April 16, in the Norcroft Centre at the University of Bradford from 6pm – 7.30pm.
