English Language Requirements
If your first language is not English, you will need to provide proof of your English proficiency before you can be admitted onto any of our degree courses. See full details of our English Language requirements.
If you need help with your English or want to build your confidence before starting your academic degree course, you can study at Bradford in the summer for six or 10 weeks. If you need more English language tuition, you can join the 20, 30 or 40-week Pre-sessional English language programme. See the Language Centre website for further details, including entrance requirements.
Throughout each year of your studies, you can attend the free weekly academic English language support classes. These classes will help you to continue to develop your academic English language skills. Classes include academic reading, academic writing, grammar, academic speaking and listening, English for academic studies (postgraduates) and pronunciation.
We also offer a full programme of free academic English language workshops in each semester.
You can book a one-to-one appointment with an experienced English lecturer to discuss any difficulties you may be having at any time throughout the year too.
"Bradford has a very welcoming multicultural environment, it has attracted students from all over the world, from Africa down to Asia and some parts of America. And the University has proved beyond doubt that it is indeed an enabling environment where knowledge and ideas across many perspectives are shared."
