Staff networks

Our staff networks raise awareness and provide support to help shape the culture and values of our University. They are an effective channel of communication and play an advisory role for University leaders.

Carers staff forum

The staff carers network is for any member of staff who has the responsibility of caring for another person, either a child or adult.  The network meets once a month to share ideas and experiences of managing caring responsibilities alongside work at the University.

Faith, belief & spirituality staff forum

The Faith Belief and Spirituality Staff Forum is open to all staff. With it, we aim to:

  • provide a safe space to discuss experiences at the university relating to the above,
  • offer mutual support as people explore ways to live out their faith beliefs or philosophies,
  • challenge all forms of religious discrimination,
  • give guidance and feedback on university policy, procedures and strategy,
  • share information, ideas, practice and research.

Gender staff forum

The Gender staff forum is open to all staff, we aim to: 

  • provide a safe space to discuss experiences at the university relating to gender,
  • offer mutual support,
  • challenge all forms of gender discrimination,
  • give guidance and feedback on university policy, procedures and strategy,
  • share information, ideas, practice and research.

International staff network

The international staff network is a forum for all overseas staff and those identifying as international staff (irrespective of citizenship/visa status, geography, and heritage).

The network provides a platform for sharing information and experiences on issues of mutual interest and an informal space for peer support.

The network aims to:

  • advance the university’s inclusion ethos and attract diverse global talents,
  • conduct orientation for new international staff, helping them navigate and adjust to life in Bradford,
  • support members' career development by sharing information on growth opportunities and creating a platform for knowledge exchange.

N-able forum

N-able meet four times a year in an informal setting to discuss issues, initiatives and support within the disability agenda.

The network aims to:

  • share knowledge and experience in a safe and supportive environment,
  • consult and collaborate with disabled staff,
  • increase member knowledge through attendance at external events.

Neurodivergent staff network

The Neurodivergent Staff Network at the University of Bradford is neurodivergent led and aims to bring neurodivergent staff together to:

  • offer each other support based on our shared experiences,
  • dispel myths and breakdown the stigmas associated with neurodivergent conditions,
  • create a sense of belonging, celebrating the strengths that neurodiversity can bring.

LGBT+ staff forum

The ​​​​​​​LGBT+ Staff Network embraces the unique diversity of our University community.

It is a collective of staff who work in partnership with the University to create a more inclusive and diverse working environment that encourages a culture of respect and equality for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.

Race equality staff forum

The forum meets regularly to discuss issues and activities that contribute to the University’s work on race equality. It aims to:

  • promote the University’s approach to race equality and good race relations,
  • provide role models and advocates for progressing racial equality,
  • offer a support network for staff,
  • celebrate and promote social and cultural cohesion.
