Biography
I am a new Adult Nursing lecturer at the University of Bradford and a qualified registered staff nurse. I have previously studied and attained a BSc in Psychology where my research focused on a qualitative analysis exploring the amplitudes of media representations regarding offending behaviours and how this subsequently informs peoplesâ perceptions. Following this I then started my BSc Nursing where my first year was Mental health Nursing. I then moved discipline across to adult nursing during which time my research project focused on how effective nurse-led interventions for the risk management of cardiovascular disease outcomes within cardiac rehabilitation were. I have now been qualified almost 7 years and my roles as a staff nurse have included Cardiology admissions within a tertiary hospital, Accident and Emergency, a short time in District nursing before going back to a cardiology day case admissions unit. My previous employment prior to starting at the University of Bradford was as just described, a day case cardiology unit where elective admissions for both diagnostic and interventional procedures were carried out such as Pacemaker insertions and box changes for battery depletions, cardioversions, transoesophageal echocardiograms, coronary angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions in addition to medical diagnostic biopsyâs such as lung, liver and renal. I am interested in the future in becoming involved in research topics regarding early miscarriage and preventions.
