The University of Bradford International College (UBIC) Safeguarding Policy and Procedures outlines it's commitment to the welfare and safety of it's service users.

The University of Bradford International College (UBIC) follows the University Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. UBIC will appoint a Safeguarding Lead who will liaise with the University’s Designated Safeguarding Lead for the purposes of the operation of the University Safeguarding Policy and Procedures within the college.

The UBIC Safeguarding lead will undergo additional Designated Safeguarding Training provided by Oxford International Education Group in conjunction with the NSPCC.

The UBIC Safeguarding Lead will be a member of the University’s Safeguarding Steering Group.

All members of staff who teach as part of the UBIC provision will undertake a DBS Check as part of the safer recruitment process and complete mandatory safeguarding training.

All under 18s and adults at risk are identified at the point of admission. Where an applicant will be aged under 18 at the point of enrolling with the University to study on a UBIC programme, the procedures set out in Appendix D of the University of Bradford’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures will apply.

UBIC will not admit a student who will be aged under 16 at the point of enrolling with the University.

Safeguarding disclosures or concerns will follow the University’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, as set out in Appendix C, and will be reported immediately to the University’s Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Applicants, students, or any other party wishing to raise safeguarding concerns arising in relation to UBIC should report these concerns to the University’s Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Information on Safeguarding will be displayed within UBIC facilities.

The Safeguarding Lead for UBIC is the College Manager who will be assisted in this role by the Student Support Officer.
