Designed to tackle the big challenges

Chemistry at Bradford gives you choice and flexibility in your degree and combines four major areas of modern chemistry in our programme. We offer a three-year BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with the option of an additional placement year.

When you start your degree with us, you'll first build a strong understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, and then begin to apply this foundational knowledge to more advanced topics in your final year. You'll have a solid background in modern areas of chemistry and will be able to complete a research pack in an area of your choosing.

Our chemistry lecturers have links with companies and universities all over the world, and many of our students will complete a placement either here in the UK, or abroad, with one of our industrial partners. The chemistry teaching team are all research-active, and our work impacts many of the big issues of the 21st century - such as antimicrobial resistance, curing cancer, clean energy and plastics in the environment.

BSc (Hons) Chemistry is accredited by The Royal Society for Chemistry (RSC).

This is where I visualise real world solutions

"I chose to study at Bradford because the chemistry department were quite concerned with material chemistry, specifically supermolecular chemistry, which is my main area of interest."
