What is STEM?
STEM is an educational programme which brings together:
It's designed to prepare primary and secondary school students for further and higher education study in these areas.
Celebrity guest Marty Jopson
We are excited to announce that 'Science bloke' Marty Jopson from BBC's The One Show will be performing at the festival.
Marty's action-packed show will take you on a tour of household science. He will also address conundrums like:
- What really makes cakes rise?
- Why do soap bubbles burst?
- How do you get the quartz out of a clock using a hammer?

STEM 'Build' workshops
Take part in our exciting 'STEM Factory' in the STEM Centre - understand how to build things you never thought possible:
- Build a 5-note piano
- Build a cloud
- Build a robot
- Build an immunity
- Build a future
Throughout the day you will have the chance to take part in experiments on the stands, talk to experts, and learn what current University of Bradford students do to enhance their STEM skills.
On the day: where to go
The festival will take place at the Norcroft Centre and STEM Centre.
Limited spaces are available at Shearbridge Green car park.
For sat navs, use BD7 1AZ to Great Horton Road, and then follow the direction signs.
The University is a 15-20 minute walk from Bradford Interchange and Forster Square stations.
The 576 bus runs from Bradford Interchange to the University.
