Experience days for Years 7 - 9

Our higher education experience days for years 7-9 can provide an insight into university study, student life, and careers.

The half day programme will consist of a campus tour (including optional treasure hunt), a choice of an outreach workshop (listed below), and a chance to ask our current students questions.

These will be delivered by our Outreach and Recruitment Team and current student ambassadors.

Years 7 - 9 workshops

WorkshopDescription
Meet a student Where possible, this may be with one of our current students who has previously studied at your school, college or local area. They will discuss what it's like to and be a student and live independently at the University of Bradford.
Design a university An interactive workshop which introduces students to the university 'campus' and what kind of facilities, places and people they can expect to find. Students then work in groups to design their own university.
Create your own society Students explore the university activities available to them and design their own student society. At the end of the session, students will present their societies in a mini freshers fair. From the societies presented, students then select the societies they would like to join.
University degrees and what you can do with them Students explore the range of degrees offered at the University of Bradford, the subjects they will need to study with us, and where the degrees can take them.
Challenging stereotypes Find out about men and women who are challenging stereotypes by working in industries not traditionally related to them. Hear about some of our amazing women who are working in engineering, computing, life sciences and some of our fantastic men who are working in healthcare as nurses and in social work with families.
Future careers and the skills that you need Students hear about our recent graduates, their careers, and their skills. Students reflect on the skills they need, the skills they have, and how the university experience supports the development of transferable skills.
