I've really enjoyed it, I'm so glad I came to Bradford

Chloe

What's been your favourite aspect of the course?

The chance to go out on placement and work in the clinic here on campus has been really valuable - it's a great way to gain hands-on experience.

I've had eight placements, six of them throughout Bradford and Leeds NHS trusts.

I've worked in different areas gaining experience in a lot of the core areas, including; musculoskeletal, neuro, cardiovascular and respiratory.

For my elective placement I worked with patients at Pinderfield's Hospital suffering from acute stroke because this is an area that I'm particularly interested in.

What experiences have you gained at Bradford that will help you in your future career?

I have been involved in the steering group for the on-campus Physiotherapy Clinic. It involved planning how to drive the clinic forward with marketing and working with trusts.

It gave me an insight into how clinics work behind the scenes, I also had to deliver presentations to promote it which helped with my confidence and communication skills.

Did you live in student accommodation?

In my first year I lived in The Green - as soon as I saw it on Open Day I knew I wanted to live on campus.

I was in a flat with all girls because I requested it. It was good because we were all studying similar courses in Health Studies, so we were all like-minded and got on really well. We made friends with people in other flats in other blocks, it was like a little student community.

The friends I made in The Green I've had throughout university, we've lived together for the past three years and will definitely stay friends.

Looking back, how would you sum up your time over the past few years?

The staff have been incredibly supportive and it's a friendly, close-knit cohort of students. I've made so many friends on the course and in my student accommodation - it's been amazing!
