Sport and fitness for all
The Team Bradford sporting community offers clubs and activities for every student. You can get involved in sports ranging from football to snowboarding, archery to athletics.
Our recently upgraded facilities include two new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) pitches, a strength and conditioning suite, a 25-metre swimming pool, tennis courts, climbing wall, an indoor sports hall and a fully-equipped gym.
"Sport is one of the key aspects of student life at the University of Bradford. It signifies the ethos of Team Bradford, with engagement from students, staff, alumni and the local community."
Novice, intermediate, expert
Our 35 sports clubs are open to all students, regardless of experience or ability. Even if you've never played your chosen sport before, you'll be welcome at your club's training sessions and social events.
To enrol in a sports club you will need to join the Athletics Union (AU). Membership is available through the University of Bradford Union of Students and costs £25 per year.
The University also runs a Campus Sports programme for students who aren't involved in clubs. This programme allows students to participate in casual sports sessions without the commitment of club membership.
Join our club
Team Bradford isn't all about sport - our students also enjoy a vibrant social scene. Most of the clubs organise regular events and nights out, and some of them even holiday together! Joining a sports club is a great way to make friends.
Representing Team Bradford
As well as holding regular training sessions and social meet-ups, many of our clubs are represented by teams in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues.
Our students have the opportunity to compete against rival universities from across the country in sports as diverse as lacrosse, equestrian, volleyball and fencing.
Sports Scholarship Scheme
Our Sports Scholarship Scheme provides financial assistance for qualifying students who are serious about sport.
If you are applying to study at the University of Bradford and excel in a particular sport, you may eligible.
