Vasileios' research interests focus on research which promotes positive real-life changes for people who are diagnosed with mental health conditions and are often socially marginalized. He has experience in conducting research in a variety of settings, such as therapeutic communities, clinics, hospitals, psychotherapeutic centres, and the community. In 2015, he completed his PhD studies in Aix-Marseille University, France, where he conducted research on the benefits of music-assisted psychotherapeutic interventions in substance addiction treatment. From 2015 to 2018, Vasileios was involved in an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership entitled MUS.I.C.D.A.RE (Music In Creative Detoxofication And Rehabilitation), which included partners from the UK, France and Greece. The partnership involved the delivery of research and training on the use of music as an additive treatment modality in the detoxification and rehabilitation processes of substance-addicted individuals. Vasileios has a special interest in young onset dementia and particularly in finding ways to improve the quality of life and services provided to younger people with dementia and their families. Since 2016, he has been working as a research assistant in the ANGELA Project, which aims to improve diagnosis and post-diagnostic support for younger people with dementia and their families/supporters in the UK.
