Emmanuel Idowu is a Professor of Healthcare Leadership and Head of School, Nursing and Healthcare Leadership.
Prior to starting at the University of Bradford in 2021 , Professor Idowu worked at Anglia Ruskin University UK, University of Brighton UK, London South Bank University UK, University of London UK and National Health Service (NHS) UK. He has significant public sector professional experiences, with over 30 years of managing and developing range of diverse and complex healthcare services, clinical education, and staff development in the health services in the United Kingdom (UK) and Qatar. In the UK, he worked as an independent management consultant in Primary Care Trusts in London and West Midlands. In these roles, he undertook, and managed projects concerned with healthcare reform for managing long-term conditions. Having worked in the capacity of a Clinical Director, Head of Department, Senior Lecturer, Prof Idowu has gained wide experiences in the field of clinical education, management and leading multidisciplinary team of academics and clinical professionals. During these times, he fully appreciated and participated in joint working and partnerships with other international organizations.

ResearchAs a researcher, he focuses on issues of organization, performance, leadership and healthcare ethics. Currently, Prof Idowu research examines organizational culture theory and the determinants of workplace performance in the healthcare organization. In particular, he's interested in the implications and applications of these determinants in organizational behaviour and performance. He is also interested in the theme of the ‘dominant organizational logic’ as a means of understanding the relationship between organizational culture and organizational performance.
