My current responsibilities within the Faculty of Health Studies include delivering undergraduate teaching on the BSc Public Health and Community Wellbeing; and postgraduate input on the Masters in Public Health. Drawing on my experience in work based learning, I also support the development of work based learning and placement opportunities within the undergraduate programme.

Prior to my role at Bradford, I held the role of Workforce Development Fellow and, later, Senior Lecturer (Health and Social Care Research) in the College of Health and Social Care, University of Derby.

My teaching responsibilities included teaching in the areas of Public Health, Health Inequalities and Health Promotion. In addition, I held responsibility for teaching on a Foundation Degree/Higher Apprenticeship for health and social care support staff.

As Workforce Development Fellow, I provided leadership in the development of strategic relationships within the health and social care sector; informing curriculum development and the development of new programmes and CPD within the College of Health and Social Care; as well as leading in the development of new business opportunities.

As Senior Lecturer (Health and Social Care Research), I played a lead role in developing proposals and securing new contracts for the College’s Research Centre in the areas of physical activity and obesity; the impact of public health interventions on healthy eating within schools; and evaluations of new and emerging models of care. I was Principal Investigator on a number of research projects in the area of physical activity and obesity.

Prior to my role at the University of Derby, I gained extensive experience within the health and social care sector across Greater Manchester. This included roles in research, teaching and management within the area of substance misuse and in the area of health inequalities, commissioning and provision of services to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.
