Biography
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Bradford, where I achieved a first class honours. I then decided to continue my interest in the field of Psychology by enrolling onto the MSc Psychology of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Bradford. Following this, to continue my passion for the subject area, I decided to undertake a PhD in Cognitive Neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr Valerie Lesk and Dr Elizabeth Walters. My PhD research explored the influence of sleep, tiredness, time of day, medication and caffeine variables on the accuracy of cognitive test scores.
My main research interests are in the areas of factors affecting cognition/cognitive testing/health and wellbeing and in improving student experience in teaching and learning. My research has implications for a wide range of sectors including clinical, research, education, health, sports, and occupational fields.
I have previously taught at the University Centre - Blackburn College as a part time Lecturer in Psychology on the BSc Psychology programme and the University of York where I worked as a Tutor in Psychology. I currently work as a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Bradford. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
