Dr. Marios Biskas
Biography
I received my BSc in Psychology from University of Crete, Greece. Next, I completed my MSc in Research Methods in Psychology and PhD in social psychology at University of Southampton. I then worked as a research associate at The University of Sheffield and Durham University. I am currently working as a post-doc researcher for a project examining whether fiction consumption promotes healthy aging.
Research
My research covers various aspects of social cognitions, emotions, and well-being. For example, how does reading fiction improve older adults' social life? What are the psychological effects of self-compassion on well-being? How does nostalgia help people regulate distressing feelings?
