Biography

Kate qualified as a physiotherapist 8 years ago at University of Limerick. She has worked in both public and private sectors in Ireland, England and New Zealand. She has worked across a variety of clinical areas including acute hospital care in the NHS, neuro rehabilitation, private practice musculoskeletal and community outpatients. Kate has been working as a clinical teacher in Physiotherapy at the University of Bradford where she uses her recent clinical experience to create an authentic and relevant learning environment for the students. She is also involved in student education and supervision in the Physiotherapy Clinic at the University. . She enjoys keeping active and tackling the odd craft project.

Teaching interests

I am teaching across a variety of modules with a keen interest in the areas of neurology and general rehabilitation. I am also interested in teaching physiotherapy considering the values of holistic management, health promotion and addressing health inequalities. 

Teaching highlights

I have set up Parkinson's Exercise classes as a learning experience for the students in the student lead clinic.
