Jonathan Cole
Biography
I have over 30 years experience across multiple pharmacy sectors and 20 years of primary care pharmacy experience. I have been a practicing pharmacist prescriber since 2005, converting to independent prescribing in 2007. My role at the university is primarily aimed at supporting the post-graduate education of primary, secondary and community pharmacists through the delivery of post-graduate early career clinical education. I also help support the delivery of the Bradford MPharm undergradute course.
In addition to my academic role, I am a director of Rycroft Health Associates Ltd, a medicines optimisation company based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, which specialises in general practice clinical pharmacy support, delivery of general practice / pharmaceutical industry projects and NHS clinical research. I also have a keen interest in cardiovascular disease and I am presently the CVD prevention lead for Central Halifax Primary Care Network. I am a co-owner of several community pharmacies across West Yorkshire.
Teaching
I am module lead for the Foundation in Pharmacy Practice module which provides early career pharmacists with clinical skills development around the following clinical domains: cardiovascular; diabetes; respiratory and infectious diseases. My professional interests include cardiovascular risk reduction and the development of pharmacist prescribing.
