Biography

Hanif is a mixed methods social scientist with an interest in health and ethnic inequalities. He has written several grant proposals and has successfully secured and managed funding (from Epilepsy Action, Diabetes UK, British Heart Foundation, National Institute of Health Research, ESRC). He has also secured a number of small grants from local NHS providers to conduct small-scale exploratory research projects in the area of cardiovascular disease risk management and non-attendance at hospitals. Hanif is an active member of the research community through his engagement and active collaboration with colleagues from several univerisities (Sheffield Hallam, York, Leeds). He is also a peer reviewer for the NIHR and several journals (Health Expectations, Ethnicity & Health, BMC Family Practice, European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing). Hanif has presented his work at both national and international nursing and allied health professional conferences.
