Emily Paget
Biography
I qualified as an Adult Nurse in 2006 and began my clinical career in Intensive Care in Leicester. In 2011, I completed the shortened BSc (Hons) in Midwifery and worked for eight years as a midwife in hospitals across West Yorkshire, with a particular focus on intrapartum care.
Alongside my clinical work, I completed an MSc in Health and Community Care at Leeds Beckett University in 2017 and, more recently, a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Simulation at the University of Coventry in 2025. I began my academic career in 2019 as a lecturer at the University of Leeds, before joining the University of Bradford as an Assistant Professor in 2021.
I am currently the Simulation Lead for Midwifery at the University of Bradford. My academic interests include simulation-based education, innovative teaching pedagogies, and enhanced maternal care. I have been actively involved in curriculum and module development, with a focus on embedding simulation across midwifery education. I was recently awarded a PSRC (Patient Safety Research Collaboration) award and am currently undertaking research into the implementation of simulation practices supported by digital technologies in maternity education and look to progress this to doctoral level study.
