Biography

I joined The University of Bradford in November 2021 after working in the NHS as a midwife for 10 years. During this time I experienced all aspects of maternity care in different settings. Over the last 4 years I worked in more specialist roles, which included risk management; and most recently I was the project lead for the local implementation of midwifery continuity of carer. My previous roles have given me experience in leadership, change management, project management and obstetric risk management as well as routine midwifery care. I therefore bring with me a range of skills that will benefit the teaching of the midwifery undergraduate programme, as well as a number of research interests that have the potential to be impactful in clinical practice. Whilst teaching will remain my primary focus over the next few years. a principle aim will also be to study for an MSc that aligns to my research interests in continuity of carer as an opportunistic way launching my academic career.
