I work part time at the University researching and supporting others, in researching polypharmacy, deprescribing, interface prescribing in primary care practice. Outside of the University I work as a practice pharmacist and as a consultant advising on primary care pharmacy including to Prescribing Support Services Ltd a company which I founded 20 years ago. I am also a member of the Royal Phamaceutical Society's England board.


Teaching interests

Development of pharmacists in General Practice (primary care) pharmacy at foundation and advanced practice level.
Management of anticoagulation in primary care
Prescribing behaviour change in primary care
Use of primary care prescribing data


Medication review in primary care.
Deprescribing including methods to improve the processes for reviewing and agreeing changes with patients to stop medicines they no longer need or want.
Use of primary care prescribing data to identify associations between prescribing and poor outcomes in frail older people.
Techniques to implement prescribing behaviour change.
